Aptitude Tests
Berger Aptitude for Programming Advanced Test (BAPT-AF)
Number of items:        25 program segments to write
Administration Time:     2 Hours

Scoring:
Once completed booklets have been received, a diagnostic score report is generated for each candidate which can be faxed or posted to the client.
Use: When you need truly outstanding candidates for programmer training, look to the B-APT AF. This test assumes some basic familiarity with programming concepts. Candidates should have had some computer science courses or similar study or experience. The test is also used to select from the COBOL programming group those to be trained in a more advanced language (e.g. "C").

Description: A job-related tutorial test, the B-APT AF requires the candidate to learn a language resembling today's newer, more powerful languages. To answer the test questions, the candidate must analyse program specifications; write coded instructions to a hypothetical computer; and apply the language rules to increasingly complex practical situations.

Content areas include: Basic Operations (allocating variable storage, looping, using conditionals), String Operations (complex manipulation of character strings), and Record Operations (manipulating customised data structures that include integer and string fields).
